STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistant Registrars,

Subject: The carriage of documents and parcels by courier service providers under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017 (Maharashtra Act 61 of 2017), the Energy Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carriage of documents and parcels by courier service providers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every courier service provider carrying on the carriage of documents and parcels shall make an application in Form C to the Registrar of Chits within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Registrar shall ensure that goods is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Chits within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Maharashtra.
