STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa, Daman and Diu Agricultural Tenancy Act, 1964 (Goa Act 7 of 1964), the Environment Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.
2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Settlement Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Goa.
