STANDING ORDER

All Medical Officers,

Subject: The practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners under the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 15 of 1949), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the practice of medicine by registered medical practitioners.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered medical practitioner carrying on the practice of medicine shall make an application in Form 19 to the Licensing Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Medical Officer shall ensure that stock register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
