STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Medical Officers,

Subject: The sale of drugs by licensees under the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act, 2007 (Karnataka Act 21 of 2007), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of drugs by licensees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee carrying on the sale of drugs shall make an application in Form 25 to the Appropriate Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Chief Medical Officer shall ensure that test report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Appropriate Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka.
