STANDING ORDER

To

All Assessors,

Subject: The running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits under the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972 (Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 1972), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cinema within the municipal limits carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form A to the Corporation within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Assessor shall ensure that street is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Corporation within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
