STANDING ORDER
To
All Gram Sevaks,
Subject: The keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a shop in a village market by shopkeepers in a village market.
2. The matter has been examined. Every shopkeeper in a village market carrying on the keeping of a shop in a village market shall make an application in Form 7 to the District Collector within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Gram Sevak shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Collector within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of West Bengal.
