STANDING ORDER

To

All Revenue Inspectors,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the General Administration Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Bihar.
