STANDING ORDER

To

All Controllers of Explosives,

Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by proprietors of a lodging house under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by proprietors of a lodging house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every proprietor of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form VIII to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Controller of Explosives shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
