STANDING ORDER

All Executive Engineers,

Subject: The maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam under the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Rajasthan Irrigation and Drainage Act, 1954 (Rajasthan Act 21 of 1954), the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of a dam by owners of a dam.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a dam carrying on the maintenance of a dam shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Rajasthan within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Executive Engineer shall ensure that register of users is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Rajasthan within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Rajasthan.
