STANDING ORDER

To

All Registering Officers,

Subject: The operation of a multi-system cable network by multi-system operators under the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Exhibition of Films on Television Screen through Video Cassette Recorders (Regulation) Act, 1984 (Tamil Nadu Act 7 of 1984), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a multi-system cable network by multi-system operators.

2. The matter has been examined. Every multi-system operator carrying on the operation of a multi-system cable network shall make an application in Form VIII to the Board of Film Certification within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Registering Officer shall ensure that film is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Film Certification within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
