STANDING ORDER

All Canal Officers,

Subject: Fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a reservoir by licensees of a fishery in a reservoir.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fishery in a reservoir carrying on fishing in a reservoir shall make an application in Form F to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that water meter is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala.
