STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Conservator of Forests,

Subject: The running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Environment Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a saw mill carrying on the running of a saw mill shall make an application in Form IV to the Environmental Appellate Authority within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Conservator of Forests shall ensure that register of consents is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Environmental Appellate Authority within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Kerala.
