STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintending Archaeologists,

Subject: The running of a home stay by operators of a home stay under the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Tourism (Conservation and Preservation of Areas) Act, 2005 (Kerala Act 8 of 2005), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a home stay by operators of a home stay.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a home stay carrying on the running of a home stay shall make an application in Form I to the Director of Tourism within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Superintending Archaeologist shall ensure that site is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Tourism within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Kerala.
