STANDING ORDER
To
All Revenue Inspectors,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Law Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 8 to the Collector within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Revenue Inspector shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Punjab.
