STANDING ORDER

All Health Officers,

Subject: The running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits under the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Municipality Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 20 of 1994), the Ports Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a cinema by operators of a cinema within the municipal limits.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a cinema within the municipal limits carrying on the running of a cinema shall make an application in Form D to the Municipal Council within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Health Officer shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Municipal Council within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Kerala.
