STANDING ORDER

To

All Extension Officers,

Subject: The running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village under the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 1959), the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rice mill in a village carrying on the running of a rice mill in a village shall make an application in Form 4 to the District Panchayat within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Extension Officer shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information Technology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
