STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Superintendents,

Subject: The working of a winery by licensees of a winery under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Excise Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a winery by licensees of a winery.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a winery carrying on the working of a winery shall make an application in Form C to the Excise Commissioner within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Excise Superintendent shall ensure that excise seal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Punjab.
