STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Director of Education,

Subject: The running of a school library by managers of a school library under the Karnataka Education Act, 1995, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1995 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a school library by managers of a school library.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manager of a school library carrying on the running of a school library shall make an application in Form B to the School Tribunal within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. The Assistant Director of Education shall ensure that certificate of recognition is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the School Tribunal within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
