STANDING ORDER
To
All Panchayat Inspectors,
Subject: The leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the leasing of a village tank by lessees of a village tank.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village tank carrying on the leasing of a village tank shall make an application in Form 2 to the Zila Parishad within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Zila Parishad within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of West Bengal.
