STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Inspectors,
Subject: The tapping of toddy by toddy tappers under the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 (Punjab Act 1 of 1914), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the tapping of toddy by toddy tappers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every toddy tapper carrying on the tapping of toddy shall make an application in Form G to the District Excise Officer within ten days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Excise Officer within ten days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Punjab.
