STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 2 to the Tahsildar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of West Bengal.
