STANDING ORDER

To

All Plant Protection Officers,

Subject: The storage of agricultural produce by licensees of a warehouse under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1987 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1987), the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the storage of agricultural produce by licensees of a warehouse.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a warehouse carrying on the storage of agricultural produce shall make an application in Form D to the Insecticides Board within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Plant Protection Officer shall ensure that seed is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Insecticides Board within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Agriculture Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
