STANDING ORDER

To

All Rent Controllers,

Subject: The management of common areas by associations of allottees under the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Housing Board Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 17 of 1961), the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of common areas by associations of allottees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every association of allottees carrying on the management of common areas shall make an application in Form H to the Competent Authority within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that agreement for sale is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
