STANDING ORDER
To
All Surveyors,
Subject: The holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of allotted surplus land by allottees of surplus land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every allottee of surplus land carrying on the holding of allotted surplus land shall make an application in Form 14 to the State Government within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Surveyor shall ensure that map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within one hundred and eighty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.
