STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers under the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Land Reforms Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 30 of 1950), the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as a sharecropper by sharecroppers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every sharecropper carrying on the cultivation of land as a sharecropper shall make an application in Form 5 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar.
