STANDING ORDER
To
All Circle Officers,
Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Transport Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.
2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 1 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Bihar.
