STANDING ORDER

All Child Development Project Officers,

Subject: The running of a shelter home by shelter homes under the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1982 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1982), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a shelter home by shelter homes.

2. The matter has been examined. Every shelter home carrying on the running of a shelter home shall make an application in Form II to the Commission within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Child Development Project Officer shall ensure that institution is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Commission within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Karnataka.
