STANDING ORDER

All Deputies Superintendent of Police,

Subject: The keeping of an eating house by keepers of an eating house under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of an eating house by keepers of an eating house.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of an eating house carrying on the keeping of an eating house shall make an application in Form IV to the Superintendent of Police within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Superintendent of Police shall ensure that firearm is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Superintendent of Police within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
