STANDING ORDER
To
All Surveyors,
Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Ports Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 8 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Surveyor shall ensure that holding is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Odisha.
