STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Land Assignment Act, 1960 (Kerala Act 30 of 1960), the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Kerala.
