STANDING ORDER

To

All Highway Administration Officers,

Subject: The testing of motor vehicles for fitness by operators of a testing station under the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1957 (Karnataka Act 35 of 1957), the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the testing of motor vehicles for fitness by operators of a testing station.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a testing station carrying on the testing of motor vehicles for fitness shall make an application in Form 38 to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Highway Administration Officer shall ensure that motor vehicle is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Youth Services and Sports Department, Government of Karnataka.
