STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Inspectors of Excise,

Subject: The import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor under the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915 (Madhya Pradesh Act 2 of 1915), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the import of liquor into the State by importers of liquor.

2. The matter has been examined. Every importer of liquor carrying on the import of liquor into the State shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Madhya Pradesh within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Sub-Inspector of Excise shall ensure that transport pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Madhya Pradesh within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
