STANDING ORDER
To
All Environmental Engineers,
Subject: The treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Environment Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the treatment of waste by operators of a waste treatment facility.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a waste treatment facility carrying on the treatment of waste shall make an application in Form VI to the State Board within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.
3. The Environmental Engineer shall ensure that hazardous substance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Board within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Kerala.
