STANDING ORDER

To

All Superintending Engineers,

Subject: The execution of canal works by contractors for canal works under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Law Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of canal works by contractors for canal works.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor for canal works carrying on the execution of canal works shall make an application in Form G to the Ground Water Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Superintending Engineer shall ensure that canal is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Ground Water Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
