STANDING ORDER
To
All Block Development Officers,
Subject: The keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop under the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Kerala Act 13 of 1994), the Home Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a village shop by keepers of a village shop.
2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of a village shop carrying on the keeping of a village shop shall make an application in Form 4 to the Director of Panchayats within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Block Development Officer shall ensure that ferry is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Panchayats within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Kerala.
