STANDING ORDER
To
All Municipal Commissioners,
Subject: The keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house under the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1972 (Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 1972), the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a lodging house by owners of a lodging house.
2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a lodging house carrying on the keeping of a lodging house shall make an application in Form G to the Corporation within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. The Municipal Commissioner shall ensure that trade licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Corporation within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
