STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Guards,

Subject: The sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees under the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915 (Madhya Pradesh Act 2 of 1915), the Finance Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises by bar licensees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bar licensee carrying on the sale of liquor for consumption on the premises shall make an application in Form G to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.

3. The Excise Guard shall ensure that excisable article is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
