STANDING ORDER

To

All Station Staff Officers,

Subject: The carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Act 7 of 1986), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment.

2. The matter has been examined. Every trader within a cantonment carrying on the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment shall make an application in Form H to the Cantonment Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Station Staff Officer shall ensure that identity card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Cantonment Board within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
