STANDING ORDER

To

All Civil Defence Officers,

Subject: The construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 2007), the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area by owners of a building in a vulnerable area.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building in a vulnerable area carrying on the construction of buildings in a vulnerable area shall make an application in Form C to the State Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Civil Defence Officer shall ensure that relief material is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Maharashtra.
