STANDING ORDER

To

All Licensing Officers,

Subject: Dealing in second-hand goods by dealers in second-hand goods under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 (Tamil Nadu Act 10 of 1937), the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in second-hand goods by dealers in second-hand goods.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in second-hand goods carrying on dealing in second-hand goods shall make an application in Form I to the Government of Tamil Nadu within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Licensing Officer shall ensure that cartridge is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Tamil Nadu within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
