STANDING ORDER

To

All Regionals Officer of the Board,

Subject: The running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill under the Kerala Forest Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Forest Act, 1961 (Kerala Act 4 of 1961), the Law Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a saw mill by owners of a saw mill.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a saw mill carrying on the running of a saw mill shall make an application in Form I to the Divisional Forest Officer within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Regional Officer of the Board shall ensure that sample of effluent is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Divisional Forest Officer within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Kerala.
