STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Press Registrars,

Subject: The distribution of films by distributors of films under the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 23 of 1964), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the distribution of films by distributors of films.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distributor of films carrying on the distribution of films shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Karnataka within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Press Registrar shall ensure that film is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Karnataka within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka.
