STANDING ORDER

All Waqf Officers,

Subject: The running of a society by societies under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 (Karnataka Act 17 of 1960), the Energy Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a society by societies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every society carrying on the running of a society shall make an application in Form E to the Endowments Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Waqf Officer shall ensure that audit report is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Endowments Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Karnataka.
