STANDING ORDER

To

All Ward Officers,

Subject: The keeping of animals by keepers of animals within the municipal limits under the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 59 of 1949), the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of animals by keepers of animals within the municipal limits.

2. The matter has been examined. Every keeper of animals within the municipal limits carrying on the keeping of animals shall make an application in Form A to the Director of Municipal Administration within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Ward Officer shall ensure that drain is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Director of Municipal Administration within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Urban Development Department, Government of Maharashtra.
