STANDING ORDER
To
All Divisional Canal Officers,
Subject: The operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Ports Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a ferry by operators of a ferry.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a ferry carrying on the operation of a ferry shall make an application in Form H to the Dam Safety Authority within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Divisional Canal Officer shall ensure that dispute is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Dam Safety Authority within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Kerala.
