STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of an inam by inamdars under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of an inam by inamdars.
2. The matter has been examined. Every inamdar carrying on the holding of an inam shall make an application in Form 3 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within one hundred and eighty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of West Bengal.
