STANDING ORDER
To
All Junior Engineers,
Subject: The treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant under the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Irrigation and Water Conservation Act, 2003 (Kerala Act 31 of 2003), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the treatment of sewage by operators of a sewage treatment plant.
2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a sewage treatment plant carrying on the treatment of sewage shall make an application in Form F to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Junior Engineer shall ensure that tube well is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Kerala.
