STANDING ORDER

To

All Specified Officers,

Subject: The clearance of goods for import or export by customs house agents under the Karnataka Industries (Facilitation) Act, 2002, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Karnataka Industries (Facilitation) Act, 2002 (Karnataka Act 45 of 2002), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the clearance of goods for import or export by customs house agents.

2. The matter has been examined. Every customs house agent carrying on the clearance of goods for import or export shall make an application in Form FC-4 to the Export Promotion Council within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Specified Officer shall ensure that importer-exporter code is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Export Promotion Council within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka.
