CIRCULAR
To
All Wireless Monitoring Officers,
Subject: Dealing in wireless equipment by dealers in wireless equipment under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India hereby issues the following
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in wireless equipment by dealers in wireless equipment.
2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in wireless equipment carrying on dealing in wireless equipment shall make an application in Form F to the Central Government within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of ten lakh rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in wireless equipment is undertaken, and the Central Government shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this circular may be brought to the notice of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.
