STANDING ORDER
To
All Village Development Officers,
Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1994), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair.
2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 4 to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.
3. The Village Development Officer shall ensure that muster roll is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
